ECO-DYED PAPER: TWO DAY WORKSHOP

Date: "LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED"
DAY #2: Creating Art Using Your Paper
Date: "LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED"
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 Saturday afternoons One week apart to allow you time to make and dry the eco-paper.
Location: 5352 Winslow St., Kelowna, B. C., V1W 4W3
Fee: $200
Goal: Come join us to create your own one-of-a-kind paper and turn it into beautiful art. Learn how to safely use flowers and natural plant material from your own garden to dye paper. Michelle will be joined by Carol Zuckerman to lead you, step by step, through the process of preparing the paper, composition considerations of flower placement, and some secret ways to embellish your artwork.
Workshop #1: Making the Paper: The first workshop will take you through using garden materials to create a unique composition on your paper in preparation for the next step - transferring the plants to your paper as dyed images. In this workshop a few ideas about the many uses of your paper will be shared for you to explore on your own, or with Michelle and Carol in Workshop #2.
A material list will be provided to each workshop participant one week prior. Included in your workshop #1 fee are: 10 sheets of the correct paper, recipe for the solution to dye the paper, and detailed instructions to safely eco-dye at home. You will take your bundle of paper home ready to process.
Workshop #2: Creating Artwork Using Your Paper: You begin the second workshop showing off your amazing eco-dyed paper from workshop one. After everyone has completed their "show and tell", we will explore ways to take your project to an entirely new level adding ink, watercolor and your imagination. We will talk about how to display your work which may be beautiful on BOTH sides. There will be time to actually create and work on your projects.
For participants who did not create their own eco-dyed paper, a selection will be available for sale during this workshop so everyone can try out some of the creative ideas offered in Workshop #2.
FEE: The fee for the class is $60 per workshop, or $100 for both Workshop #1 and #2. You can sign up for Workshop #1 or #2, or both.
Registration: This is not a drop in class. Registration is required and commitment is necessary. Space is limited so please contact me using the registration button below, email Carol at [email protected], or call Michelle at 778-477-4768 to inquire about openings. Registration is not guaranteed until fee is received.
Cancellation Policy:
Please email or call if you need to cancel. Your fee will be refunded up to one week before the class and may be refunded then if I can find someone to take your spot.
